The brief was to design a new take-away packaging or develop already existing packaging for a restaurant or a cafe in Finland.
I chose Sinuhe Cafe from Lahti, because I think its history and brand is interesting. Sinuhe name comes from a famous Finnish novel from 1945 by Mika Waltari called “Sinuhe the Eqyptian”. Their cafe interior design has some subtle art deco elements, like Eqyptian blue, geometric shapes, gold details, so my inspiration came from those for this project.
I designed a take-away packaging for sandwiches. The packaging has a tear strip, so it’s easy to open and you don’t have to take the food out of the package when eating it.
